Independence Daywe await the explosionssilently anxious
a gift just becausefrom a secret admirer --a mouse at my feet
spontaneity:a hailstorm wrapped in sunshinea gift just because
spreading peace and joynot as easy as spreadingbutter on rye toast
married sixty-five yearsall four of their childrendivorced at least once
always too latewhen i finally discoveri need some help
journeythe essence ofbeing
rain on the roofsuddenly replaced byrobins and sparrows
brief uninterestingconversation with a strangersends me out the gate
corn pop pop poppingnootch, Bragg's, and garlic powder --must be movie night!
what is your message?the darkness only answerswith whistles and chirps
dragonfly hoversthunderclouds darken the daya raindrop hits me
prophetic words ring falsesilence bounces inside my headopening all doors
helping us to choosewhen choice seems impossiblethe croaking of frogs
the thing not discussedis the rain on the dirt roadof a relationship
a new beginningbirds sing to the blue skythe smoke is clearing
blue sky, white cloudsa symphony of birdsongleaning toward normal
Canada goosebarking, joined by anotherCanada geese
discovering joybegins a second childhoodor is it the first?
