the sun peeks her head through the rainclouds and quickly hides again

I prefer to write haiku based on current observation. Sometimes, though, I base them on photos or memory. This one is based on a memory of a walk a few weeks ago.
Fálki and I were strolling through Island Falls, Maine, during a particularly beautiful and warm winter day. Even though the temperature was only 40 degrees Fahrenheit / 4 degrees Celsius, there was no wind, so as the sun shone upon us I commented to Fálki, “It’s so nice, I don’t even need this hoodie.”
Fálki looked skeptical, bundled as she was in her winter coat, and, after a few minutes, as clouds obscured the sun, and a slight breeze kicked up, I was reminded that winter is cold when the sun isn’t hitting me.
