white house
on a white backdrop —
home in Maine
NOTES
Fálki and I bought a house in Aroostook County in northern Maine. It’s an old house, 1920s-era. It has two stories, and is only around 900 square feet.
Finding a small house was important to me when we were looking. I didn’t want too much, because I know that big houses lend themselves to clutter and storage, and so they become anchors.
In fact, we have a storage unit in our old hometown that is filled with stuff we don’t really need, but that is too far away for us to easily get into it to see what’s in there that we do need. So it all sits.
I want to give a shout out to our Island Falls attorney, Patrick E. Hunt, who helped with the transaction, and to the real estate agent, Alison Perrin, who got everything started and saw us through the path to home ownership.
