Elvis Costello
Paolo Soleri Amphitheater
close enough to touch
NOTES
The date was October 3, 2002. I was at the Paolo Soleri Amphitheater in Santa Fe, New Mexico, for the Elvis Costello show.
I’d been a huge Elvis fan since “Armed Forces”, the first album of his I’d been exposed to. And I loved what was then his latest album, “Painted From Memory”, a collaboration with Burt Bacharach.
I was fortunate enough to have purchased tickets in the second row, right at the stage.
I truly wish I didn’t drink so much back then. I’d have more memories of some of the great events of my lifetime. One thing I do remember, though, from that show, was that I was disappointed the Elvis didn’t do any songs from “Painted From Memory”.
But I was there!
Here’s a story about that night from someone else who was there.
