black clouds rage
wind howls and thunder roars
deep below the surface

On this day there were clouds all around, raging black clouds.
Okay, the clouds weren’t black, or all around, nor did they rage, but there were some dark clouds in the sky, and that reminded me of the fight people seem to have within themselves in the tv shows and movies I watch — they are fighting to hold back the rage inside themselves.
As I wrote this, I was thinking about the character of Julian Walker in Season 2 of The Sinner. I’d place The Sinner toward the positive side of the unwatchable-to-watchable continuum, with Season 2 being more watchable to me that Season 1. (I cannot comment yet on Seasons 3 and 4, as I haven’t seen them.) At any rate, this character, Julian Walker, a 13-year-old, explodes with rage every so often. I’ll not spoil your viewing of the show by using evidence presented in it the speculate as to why this rage exists, but it was there and somehow being held in check.
