the way of haiku

NOTES

The Creative Prompt at Fálki’s Falcon and Acorn network today is “songbird”.

That reminded me of the “Stairway to Heaven” that ends with “there’s a songbird who sings” which led me to the next line, “sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven”.

And that is the simple origin story of this poem.
